Bill Hebert joined Family Business Advisers in 2011.

Prior to joining FBA, Bill had a long and successful career with Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (a large publicly owned forest products company) during which he was, among other things, CFO and President of an international subsidiary. During retirement he has served as an expert in business development issues and divestiture matters, beyond his work in finance. He also has significant experience in forming and managing joint ventures and partnerships, both domestically and internationally.

Bill has been on the boards of numerous companies and non-profit organizations including several LP subsidiaries, Riley Creek Lumber, Founders Circle of SOLV, and the YMCA Columbia/Willamette where he has served as Board Chairperson.

Bill’s work in business development, finance, and strategy development provide him with ability to be of great help to family businesses with needs relating to leadership and management continuity, business structuring, and strategic planning.

Bill is a native of Escanaba, Michigan. He received a degree in accounting from Northern Michigan University and is a graduate of the Mahler Advanced Management Skills Program. He has been a member of the Financial Executives Institute and the American Paper Institute.

Bill and his wife, Alane, have one son. They enjoy numerous outdoor sporting activities, with their home in Portland being their base of activity.
